How Could this be Happening?

Hanging my head in disgust for over a month is getting pretty boring …so HELLO~!!!!!

I was devasted after the NH Primary - barley able to walk down Elm Street…. What had happened here - Obama was supposed to WIN WIN WIN !!!!!!!!!!

The Clintons got the vote out - females and favor needers et all showed up in full force; Mcain delivered a rehearsed cold and calculating victory speech and I just got more depressed at the state of the state..hardly ready to take on the blogisphere with my apologies for predicting a victory the night before I remained beat up until now.

What woke me up?

Well N. Carolina of course and the Clinton racial obviousity campaign he not she is trying to wage. Just who is running Bill Boy or HilDog?

So here it is - I’m sorry for being so bold and predicting Obama a winner so early in the NH primary…

Soon I will be able to exercise my voting right as MA residents are scheduled to take aim at the Clinton ship in a few weeks!

Obama - NH is only the start!

NH Primary - IT’s ALL OVER!

Add to Technorati Favorites

Where does one go to derive the ammunition to support the candidate they want to win the election? Is it all one Zeitgeist - The Movie” conspiracy theorization after another? I get so confused - I don’t know what to believe - so I’m a sucker and go with my heart ( we all know the rapture / pain that mind set can deliver…) the passion - the message - the one who will in fact make CHANGE a reality or at least has convinced me to give him a shot at it…O B A M A.

I’m not a NH voter but I do know many of them; on this the eve of the primary and leading up to it I have been barraged with calls from various campaigns asking me to volunteer time and energy - Well I’m doing that right now to show support of the candidate I endorse!

I really have supported only one candidate and have only contributed to one campaign…I urge all my voting friends ( I have many who I can’t seem to motivate to get out and vote) to head into the polls tomorrow and select Barack Obama. I have had so many people ask me “What is he going to do?”, What type of changes is he going to make?”, What is all this talk of change?” and so on…have faith and hang in there - we let Bush go on and on for way too long when he and his crime boss VP should have been prosecuted and impeached on any number of occasions - so give OBAMA a chance - let’s see what he’s got!

The arguments are many and of course politics is a funny sort of thing; just when you think you may have it figured out a slow hanging curve confounds you to no end - strike three…

This time around it is clear - the revolution is now and change is on the minds of many, many who have not bothered to vote or have miscast votes in the past.

It is Obama time people.

The Missing Class; many may remember this situation referred to as the working poor…barely enough to get by, not enough to qualify for various subsidies or benefits and certainly never enough to generate any savings to speak of - if anyone can alleviate the pressure of this situation its the foresight minded Obama.

We have suffered long enough with an arrogant ignorant leader and we certainly don’t need another Clinton cabinet fueled by politically and financially motivated favors. We all love Dennis but ..hmmm he’s just not electable enough for the masses ( he does get some major coolness points for taking the stage with Ani DiFranco at a recent concert held in Boston though)

It’s truly time people - do you feel it?

Feel it! Get out and VOTE - Vote Smart - Vote Obama!

Obama has made the soil fertile enough to plant a garden that will grow beyond our wildest of dreams!

Okay folks..LADIES HELLO?

This is absurdness to the highest degree…Really? NAH not at all!

Change- Ideas- and an enormous reduction in the luggage filled with favors and promises department to be carried to the oval office upon election.

We know Billy boy would be the catalyst behind the Clinton Presidency - While Clinton did well when he was in office ( wink wink) Do we really want the US to speak and point to the Bush and Clinton families as the catalyst for our country we hung our hats on for so so many years…I HOPE NOT! I saw Live Free or Die Hard - we are about as close to the real deal Fire Sale happening as ever before…you know its true..go ahead stick your head back in the sand..nice right.

God Bless the people who actually decided this year is the year we are finally going to vote - the year we are as mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore..RISE UP, RISE UP - RISE and shine and give Barack your glory glory…Corny YES!

So with Barack hammering Iowa will he pull it out in NH - hmmm

Don’t be surprised by a strong outcome for Edwards.

I took a break from this blog because my energy level to respond to the ignorance of our nation and the people was exhausting me. Where are the rebels the free thinkers, the leaders of the next revolution..Hello is anybody out there that has truly had enough of all of this yet?

I’ll Be your Huckabee…

Yes if you thought KIng Georg was bad then you are all in for some intrusionary surprises- I am already haunted by the would be cries of Bush was better than Huckabee!

Quick drown the rat - slaughter the HUCKABEE machine..DON’T let this happen to America.

Bitch slap needed immediately to all who voted for HUCKABEE…

I’m going to go to NH tonight, yep heading up to good ole St A’s to speak my mind…RIGHT - Shut up - sit down and do what your told America…that is for sure the CLEAR message that the HUCKABEE platform endorses…

The sky is falling the sky is falling….

Hillary Slings the Most Hugest Mud Pie!

Yes that Hillary!
Add to Technorati Favorites

By far this is the MOST diabolical thing done to date in this exhausting road to the Democratic Primary and Convention.
And who is Bob Novak again?

The “I know something you don’t know”
that Hillary et all have thrown in the face of reporters and paparazzi starving for new fodder for the lemmings to indulge in is without question the most obnoxious and hopefully obvious distraction and roadblock witnessed to date!
Come on all you wonderful intelligent reporters; when someone sends you down a dark path to search for the unknown instead of directing your attention to them it screams suspicion loudly…
Poor secondly placed Obama now has to spend all of his energy be it publicly or privately defending himself against this obtuse accusation. How unfair of Hill – I mean talk about kicking a candidate while he is down – her brutality knows no limits!
Obama’s poor performance in last week’s debate just wasn’t enough for the blood thirsty Clinton crusade – after embarrassing himself with the Illegal Immigrant license issue which Hillary fast tracked on the backtrack Hillary immediately sends the kill shot and throws the tabloidinal press masses right in his already littered path. The 2008 Democratic race is gross especially compared to the Republican smearing of the 2004 race. At least the Dems were getting attacked and feasted on by the Republicans instead of the current cannibalistic state they find themselves in.
Let’s behead the top three iconic posers in favor of the open minded libertine democratDennis Kucinich he’s already closing in on Edwards anyway.

So as to not seem so slanted…ahem!
Does Bob Novak have a decent bone in his body because we know his brain and moral fiber are in need of reparations… and we certainly don’t want this scoop journalist to be out of commission for too long.
Please read the Carpetbagger Report’s precise take on Mr. Novak and this smearland adventure he is partaking in. Ahh journalism for all the right reasons there Mr. Novak…just what did you trade off to get such an exclusive scoop?
Sorry Mr Novak but I have to disagree with you; this doesn’t pass the sniff test and wreaks a bit of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth stench sprayed in John Kerry’s direction in the 2004 campaign.

RON PAUL

ROCKING in The Free World!

Add to Technorati Favorites

Ron Paul is rolling along; is he an Independent, liberal, conservative, Republican, Democrat or still a Libertarian? Who cares - its the message right? Policy before Party -RIGHT?

He seems to stand and work for positice change ( policy over party). His small but growing grassroots campaign is gaining momentum. His prowess in the first debate made him a force to be considered for all parties!

As per usual volunteerism and getting in on the lastest politico craze etc is what each candidate strives for - Hell everyone loves the underdog…right?

OKay with the Hilary - Bill - Terry - machine in full effect - she’s all but is sitting in the same chair her hubby planted himself in. Right?

Is this Ron Paul for real? Can he make it happen - will enough people hear his voice and pay attention? Recently, he got some nice TV coverage in the Granite State
One thing is for sure Ron Paul has a passion and strong, vocal staff behind him.

Recons back to the 2004 DNC when the Boston host committee was built on strong passionate types like Terry McAullife, Fred Seigel, Julie Burns, Alan Leventhal, David Passafara, Micho Spring and many more!

Keep working the Granite State Ron!

I’ll Get to the Damn Debate Later…

After getting aggravated with ” the event that will not be mentioned” - A change of pace attributed to clever anger management drives this post.

There are many resources surrounding the Democratic Convention past and present. Took the time to review the edges of the top Google searches surrounding it and yawn -zzzzzzzzzz - utilizing my well honed intuitive search skill sets a number of relaventant , irrelevant and sideways searches were discovered - but firstand foremost!

Lets take a look at what the Dems site is all about and well more yawn…sigh how they are presenting themselves to the World!
Hmm GREAT OVERVIEW - honest leadership & open government, lots of claims about energy independence and healthcare, education blah blah… Come on make it a PARTY you want to join in on - ” tell us some of those stories for the flies the the walls - you gottta sell it papi!!.

Okay up next! Mega -wikepedia results - Wikepedia… hmm always be a bit suspect of an organicly nourished information database.

What’s more interesting is the online resource 2004DNC - yep it’s the date of the 2004 Convention held in Boston as well as the launch year of this online convention and political resource while the site is deep in content for the 2004 convention it also has the latest and up to date information on 2008 convention and election, the site archives so much it must be over 1000pages deep, everything fromVolunteerism ( actually this was one of the things that really got the National Party’s attention), 2004 Committee members, nationally, local, supporters and even lists all candidates Repulican and Democrat, up to date election poll results and linkage to a knowledge base as large as GWU! There is quite a back story on this site known as the Rogue Website by Boston Media and The Democratic Party

08dnc.com A clear total rip of 2004dnc - 2004dnc was first in the world to create a for profit website centered aroud a political convention - the idea is genius …but again another story. 08dnc is “The Ultimate Independent Guide to the 2008 Democratic National Conventionand the - take a deep breath…Center of the Universe for 2008 Denver’s Democratic National Convention- sigh …. basically a tourist site for the convention…not a great long term resource but will do fine for Denver!

2008 Democratic Convention Watch- demconwatch.com…Tracks news about the Democratic Convention in Denver…This is great - simple and very informative!

Now lo and behold the Democratic Convention Guide gets two results in Google Top ten! - The little blog is getting found!

Now feeling a lot better I can better focus on the Hilary stomping debacle this week…and to one of their own they deliver such deliberate and horrific acts of dismantlement…Hilary seemingly is the only one ready for the White House or is she just another puppet ina pants suit?

Republicans VETO Children’s Health Care

REPUBLICAN - our eighth dirty word!

Come on!

This is just wrong!

The most wonderful and innocent citizens in our country are just not important enough for the Republicans support. Do we really even need to delve deeper into this to realize that this is just plain wrong!

Shall we review what is supported and in favor by the Republicans? Do we really need to?

I think this absurd position on Childrens Health care doesn’t require much deep thought . What it does is solidify the word REPUBLICAN as the eighth dirty word.

What good does this almighty veto hold for the virtuous Re%p@#lican*s.

For the record this sickens me. Are there any Republicans out there that have children that will suffer / die due to this insane thinking?

Have a nice day….

Johnny boy Edwards is gosh darn pissed!

Add to Technorati Favorites

Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards unleashed on our beloved front-runner Sen. Hilly Baby, D-N.Y., Friday, calling her a “corporate Democrat,” he compared top Clinton campaign strategist Mark Penn to former Bush aide Karl Rove and told all of Penn’s ties to Blackwater USA, the embattled private firm of military contractors accused by the Iraqi government of firing upon and killing 11 unarmed Iraqi civilians last month. Is that playing nice - nice?

“Bush has been a perfect example of cronyism because Blackwater has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to Republicans and to President Bush,” Edwards said in an interview with the Associated Press while campaigning in Iowa. “I also saw this morning that Sen. Clinton’s primary adviser, Mark Penn, who is like her Karl Rove — his firm is representing Blackwater.”

YIKES ! WHoa…anyone surprised by this??

In addition to his role as a top campaign consultant to the Clinton campaign, Mark Penn is the worldwide president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller. The firm’s lobbying subsidiary BKSH helped Blackwater’s top executive, Erik Prince, prepare for his congressional testimony this week.

Penn could not be reached for comment, but Burson-Marsteller spokesman Paul Cordasco said in a statement that “through a personal relationship, BKSH, a subsidiary of Burson-Marsteller, helped Blackwater prepare for their recent hearing before Congress. With the hearing over, BKSH’s temporary engagement has ended.”

The Clinton campaign - hello Clinton campaign - Helloooo - of course the Clinton Campaign had NO COMMENT! -

Enough of that - I mean Terry did take time out of his busy politically focused career to entertain us with his fascinating book “What A Party” about well the Democratic Party…

Mike Dino - what do you have in store for us in what many consider one of the most important presidential elections since well since Al Gore and the rest of America got screwed…

2008 Democratic Presidential Candidates
Dartmouth College Democratic Debate

WOW Big Shocker - focus on troops coming home , focus on troops not going to Iran , talks on ending the war - which one? Does Afghanistan count here, easy target attacks on Hil ( yes I am guilty of this as well)–blah blah blah blah …Poor Dennis Kucinich; he got his years confused and claimed to have the troops home by April 2007….IS this going to get any better- this is what we get - Oh and by the way, before I forget - Yesterday the Taliban kidnapped two Red Cross staff in Afghanistan - Comfy Cozy yet?

So- one more debate completed , one more wasted night of watching more of the same - will this ever change? I don’t particularly care for Hil but she hardly warranted the gang bang she got last night - Can the democratic candidates please focus on the issues, the republicans and most importantl start getting to POLICY over PARTY concerns.
This should be an exciting time for this party the table is set to walk right into the white house - if this continues these jokers will get steamrolled….Where is the excitment that Howard Dean and Al Gore brought us…John Kerry be damned, this party needs an exciting new presence to step it UP- Obama seemingly already wasted the money shot early on - You feel me?

PLEASE Check out and support http://www.nationalpopularvote.com/
Our right to vote is a treasure , it was fought hard for a lot of blood was shed and lives lost - don’t waste it - get educated on the players and GET OUT AND VOTE people!

AL GORE FOR PRESIDENT

I know I didn’t do the obligatory 9/11 entry….

I waited a couple of days to see how the rest of the country and the world handled the 9/11 story.
After careful consideration I decided that for the most part our country is numb and not so aware that it could all happen again and unfortunatly we are going to have to be slapped around a lot more before we learn a lot of hard lessons…
Our country isn’t a “joke” we not “weak” we are not “all just like George and his puppeteers”…..

At some point on the horizon we will have to unite and overthrow the status quo we allow to be led by such a bunch of idiots -
I love this country - I love what it stands for - I don’t like how it is being run and we are headign for fiscal disaster, Energy Issues, health care whoas, we neglect the young when they need us most and the old when we should draw from their experiences…

If we don’t alll agree that energy is a huge issue and explore alternative sources to the hilt we are ignorant and deserve our fate. IF we don’t all agree that global warming isn’t going away and we need to rally a round a plan on how we ALL address it - burn mother fucker burn…

Reflect …reflect…reflect…We still suffer with the stooge of the house in George for a bit longer…who will be next? Line up sinlge file pleae and take a number if you are waiting for the paperwork to run for the US Presidency in 2008…does it matter which of the next pile of uninspiring drones takes the reins of our deteriorating country…I mean what are the real differences and what power do we really have - are we really being served or just part of the bilking of America with the illusion that a popular vote has any impact on the results…..how much longer do we tolerate this?

We donate , we lobby , we campaign for what? We Blog , we debate for what - YES PEOPLE IT REALLY IS THAT FUCKING useless and a waste of time-christ - I wish i had some answers rather than just pointing out the painful truths… sure it is stimulating and all that and gosh golly wow we get to speak out…thats why I waited to write - I had to really ponder my next statement….

AL GORE FOR PRESIDENT - yep - AL GORE for PRESIDENT

I know yes his campaign may have been mishandled before - PEOPLE WE VOTED for AL Gore - HE won the popular VOTE!
Al knows whats up - young and old get him!

WE here in MASS started Draft Gore Massachusettes http://www.massforgore.com/2008/

So please GO ahead - lets look at all Al’s Negatives….then compare them to this one….

My husband was a great President - I am a weak and powerless female who stood by his sorry ass after he admitted to the American population he did not have sexual relations with that women - of course not - since when is oral sex considered sexual relations…So hip hip hooray for Hil she stood by her sorry ass man after a white house Politiwhore sucked her hubbys penis - yeah thats what happened - christ come on we just forget that right - weak and powerless Hialry - had to hold on to Billy Boy for his support in her run for NY Politics ( she fucking moved to NY to run for office - WTF is that all about anyway?) OF course she supports his organizations and they both apparently have endless staff to write books for them as well….ARE WE SERIOUS IN EVEN CONSIDERING THIS person for office…..Hi honey i’m home hope you don’t mind i let a young intern suck me off today - whats for dinner?

Still pissed and For real why not Bobby Gzus for President
Have a wonderful day!

This site and the millions that will follow it over a lifetime of hideous USA politics offer more unnecessary clutter for us to sort out surrounding the ridiculous political system we have in place here in America!

Those of us like myself who long for “Policy over Party” will suffer until we organize an effort to overturn the morbid way this country goes about presenting leadership offerings; although creating such an organization seems hypocritical and ironic.

So YAWN YAWN YAWN….So things get uglier and uglier this is just silly - I gotta get out of this place!

Select Your Ideal 2008 Presidential Candidate
by: JekyllnHyde
Sat Aug 25, 2007 at 19:46:06 PM EDT

Have you ever wondered how you can compare your positions on various public policy issues — the Iraq War, school choice, social security, stem cell research, and the like — with that of the 2008 presidential candidates? You can now go to a web site which allows you to answer over two dozen questions while assigning a low or high priority to most of these policy questions. The results will rank the candidates (both Democratic and Republicans) who agree with you in descending order. The ‘Theoretical Ideal Candidate’ will, obviously, top the charts with an 100% ranking, followed by your choice based on your answers, e.g., Dennis Kucinich with 85%, Barack Obama with 82%, Al Gore with 80%, and so on.
The list includes several candidates who either aren’t running (as yet) as well as others who have dropped out of the race.

How does it work? The answer below the fold.

JekyllnHyde :: Select Your Ideal 2008 Presidential Candidate
Go to this web site and click any candidate’s name and a profile pops up which gives a summary of the candidate’s policy positions.

Next, click the 2008 SelectSmart.com Presidential Candidate Selector and you’ll see the following guidelines

This selector features over two dozen names of announced candidates and politicians considered by pundits to be possible White House contenders. You may select a position for every issue, or just select those issues important to you. The candidates’ positions are based upon their voting records, special interest group ratings and the candidates’ statements in the public record. In cases where a would-be president has no known public record or statement on an issue, they are not given a score, which tends to reward candidates who take stands on more issues. Also candidates for president who take consistent and stronger stands tend to get higher scores. All the candidates and/or their staffs were written to and given an opportunity to clarify or correct their views as characterized here.

The questions listed are, in most cases, followed by a low or high priority that you place on the particular issue. Remember to choose one or the other

Obama finished…

Is that really a race card Mrs Obama?

As a frequent viewer of the Daily Show I was prety much floored with Obama’s comments last nigtht - WTF? In a nutshell he admitted to being a part of the machine that feeds us lies and mistruths day after day on the campaign trail. I am at best sickened by this admission. Is he trying to lead us to beleive that he is a better choice becuase he has admitted beigna dishonest politicion wrapped up in the as per usual entrapments of policy and voter machinations? Is he trying to sway us to beleive he is the lesser of all evils with such an admission? Hey how about the sidestepping of the “experience” question - yep you are correct Cheney and company had quite a resume …waht the fuck does that mean - experience is a bad thing? People 60 and 70 years old make bad decisions? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?

I was a fervent demo and Obama supporter - Blinded BY the Light! Thanks so much Mr Obama - you have brought me back to the place you met me - no confidence in anyone to run this country…this is absurd - how can any of you continue to just support him because he is the lesser of evils - Hey you, up there in ManchVegas - Wake up! Obama as with the others you support so blindly out of fear are really not whom they present themsleves as.

Mrs Obama -Please get a grip - I’m glad you are doen talkign about the idiotic hosuhold refrences about Barry’s socks etc… ” If you can’t run your own house you cant run the white house” missle you aimed at Hilary is really a low blow. Is this where the Obama’s are heading- guttoral utterings on the campaign trail filled with slinging?

I want my campaign donation money BACK!

What a fraud…What is this fear she is speaking of? Is there soimething new? We all know it’s a race card being drawn- right people? She is in fear of her husband? Her daughters ? Yes, yes we are all aware of the hate breed and that hate runs rampant in the USA - race, religion, whatever, it is present we all know it

I thought this campaign was centered around change - a sea change sweeping the entire country - the freshness - the new ideas - the reshaping of the USA - You know, you are right Barry - you are as full of shit as the next candidate. My question is when does this stop? How does this stop? Let’s all take a look back to 1776 and we may get a glimpse of what it takes to overrun a governing body that continues to keep our best interests isolated and agendaless.

No wonder I took so long between posts I’m so fed up - How about the rest of you lemmings?

Anyone ready to move to Canada, Tazmania?

Barak Obama wants your MONEY!

Inspiration for Money ….the votes aren’t FREE

So here I am supporting Barak - Change is good!

The PUSH FOR MONEY is ON!

Please make this stop Obama - please make the moola grubbing political machination end PLEASE - Okay I’m really hearing it from right left middle etc!

Obama, PLEASE address out friends in NH who are questioning the taxation situation just as we did to win our freedom…

So…WHERE IS THE NEXT TEA PARTY!

So here is the latest dribble if you haven’t gotten poked with the “Inspiration for Dollars” Politicodrama!

I liked the Obama Babes message - is this country really going down the one way street of Sublime!

If so Please “CARESS ME DOWN!”

So without further delay here’s the weekly cornholio BS-

Candidates typically spend a week like this — right before the critical June 30th financial reporting deadline — on the phone day and night, begging Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs to write huge checks.

Not me. Our campaign has rejected the money-for-influence game and refused to accept funds from registered federal lobbyists and political action committees.

But there are serious financial consequences to that decision.

Cutting off the flow of easy Washington money means we have to work harder. Instead of relying on a handful of powerful interests, we must bring together hundreds of thousands of supporters, each owning an individual piece of our movement.

It’s one thing to talk about financing campaigns differently. It’s another for us to take that risk and put our trust in one another.

The June 30th deadline will prove that this era of broken politics and widespread cynicism is coming to a close. We’re ready for that change, and together we can turn the page.

The rest of the country, and the world, is watching. They want to see if we can shake up the politics of the past and set the tone for this election and the future of our democracy.

Now is the time to make your first donation and be part of something big:

http://www.barackobama.com/inspire

But don’t stop there.

If we’re going to get hundreds of thousands of people to join our movement, we need to do something different. That’s why I’m turning the rest of this fundraising drive over to you.

This is the last you will hear from me until after the June 30th deadline.

From here on out, your stories and your passion will determine our success. When you make a donation, I want you to share what inspired you to join our movement. For the rest of the week, those stories — including your story — will drive the results.

Something powerful and personal inspired you to join our movement. It may be your family’s rising health care costs or a relative fighting in Iraq. You might be fed up with corruption in Washington or frustrated by how petty and divisive our national politics has become.

Whatever your reasons, they will connect with someone else and they will make a difference. Make your donation now and share what inspired you to support our movement for change:

http://wwww.barackobama.com/inspire

Pundits and Washington insiders use these fundraising deadlines to measure the viability of campaigns. They like to judge potential in dollars, as if money alone somehow indicates widespread support.

But we measure success in people — the number of supporters giving to the campaign, and the number of donations they make to show their commitment.

We can get at least 10,000 people involved this week, but only if you take control.

Each of us must reach out to the people we know — our friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors — and inspire them to join our movement for change.

Donate now. Share your story and spread the word:

http://www.barackobama.com/inspire

Watch our website and your inbox for real stories from supporters like you.

This fundraising deadline is an important challenge for our campaign, but I know I can put my trust in you.

I have faith that we will succeed, and it won’t be because of me — it will be because each of you has the power to inspire.

Thank you.

HAD ENOUGH OF THE BEGGARS ON THE STREET? Me too!

It was refreshing to get such an optimistic pile of crapola in todays e-mail from the DNC machine!
Christ they award the the DNC 2008 to Denver and Denver can’t even raise the money for the event - Boston didn’t have these issues!
Now they want money for just sending us some more force fed media dribble ( USA Today - wow really? Whats next the totally unbiased Fox News?…Hell Tom - where is the M E A T ?

Come on Ron and Dennis start swinging!

CHECK THE POLLS!

So here is the blabber in case they missed your mailbox!
Dear Robert,

Remember the Republican culture of corruption? The revolving door of Republican politicians moving in and out of top political offices and Washington D.C. lobbying firms?

That’s Republican presidential candidate Fred Thompson.

For years, acting wasn’t the Law & Order star’s profession — it was a hobby. In the real world, Thompson has made a fortune in a decades-long career as a Washington lobbyist.

And just this month, as part of his role as the ultimate Washington insider, Thompson offered to host yet another fundraising event for Scooter Libby’s legal defense fund. Thompson has been vocal in his support of Libby, saying that he would “absolutely” pardon him.

As he runs for president, he’ll try his hardest to hide the truth from the American people. And we need to stop him.

Support our efforts to get the truth out about Fred Thompson:

http://www.democrats.org/StopTheAct

Here’s what the USA Today had to say about Lobbyist Thompson:

Although the folksy-sounding Tennessean recently told USA TODAY that he would run an outsider, just as he did while campaigning as a “country lawyer” in a red pickup during his 1994 U.S. Senate race, his résumé is that of a longtime Washington operative who has crossed ideological lines to represent corporate and foreign clients.

In his most recent stint in Washington, Thompson worked for a London company lobbying Congress to limit liability claims for asbestos-related illnesses. Over the past three years he’s made $760,000 fighting for the interests of his corporate clients.

Now Fred Thompson wants the American people to believe he’s the next Ronald Reagan — a Washington outsider with Hollywood charisma and conservative appeal. But Thompson just plays the role of straight-shooting outsider on TV. In reality, he’s as inside as you can get.

He’s trying to get to the White House on slick lines and good acting. Help us stop him:

http://www.democrats.org/StopTheAct

As Fred Thompson tries to go from Washington’s K Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, the stakes of his candidacy couldn’t be higher. In an interview just last week, for example, he claimed that the Roe v. Wade decision “was fabricated out of whole cloth,” and that it was the worst court ruling in the past 40 years.

We need to make sure that in 2008, Fred Thompson goes back to doing his acting on Law & Order — not in the White House.

Make a contribution today:

http://www.democrats.org/StopTheAct

While the Democratic presidential candidates hit the campaign trail, we’ll be hitting the Republicans. It’s our job to tell the American people the facts about opponents like Fred Thompson and to hold them accountable.

We can’t finish that job without you. I hope you’ll join us.

Sincerely,

Tom McMahon

Halfassed!

Meandering to get the populous on your side. Good looking, strapping, clever- come on everyone it’s absolute puppetry thats all.
Each of them have a puppetmaster team wielding the strings - GONE are independent thinkers - ones that can present without apprehension regarding displeasing this group or that group.

The summation: we get pretty, half assed candidates - a mouthpiece for whatever -whoever for whatever. Its stunning , disheartening and unavoidable.
The candidates have new ground to tend to, new soil to sow their seeds; the internet is now awash with politicos raising funds ( not conscienceness) , roustabouting, spreading the force fed gospel of what we want to hear ( versus how they will get it done), we listen and donate $5 at a time maybe $20 - easy predatory fundraising tactics. They have even invaded MySpace and Facebook - this is getting more pathetic every day.

Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul seem to be the only two who can speak freely, unafraid to look unpolished, make mistakes and stand up for what they truly beleive in despite the ramifications or lack of poll responsiveness.

Hair Romney we salute you!

Dem Candidate John Edwards says we sin everyday - God Help him - We must all be concerned!

Faith….Let’s talk about faith.
Faith and Politics let’s think a bit about that.
Faith…why is it so hard to evolve to accept that we should go ahead and try having a little faith - it can’t hurt -right?
God will help me find faith or is it faith will help me find God?
Faithfully -
A nice Journey Song

God takes sides.?.
You knew that already I know - So Sorry.

Anywhohow to the wow - The Republicans are whacked - Come on regardless of party schematics if you don’t see the republicans as a whole just a frickin whacked P A R T Y……Huh you don’t…Well then, I have FAITH that with the help of GOD I will find the self control needed to not throw any insulting comparisons in your direction; something that may sound like- You haven’t been shy about drinking that punch have you, because if you don’t think the repubs are frickin’ whacked you better go check in to see whats wrong - Really, because your either possessed, obsessed or just plain WHACKED yourself…Religion and Politics - Church and State or some BS.

JESUS CHRIST what is wrong with these people…

We must all have faith that if God is a good God he was just going through a phase and was misbehaving a bit too long by allowing the Bush family to control the Good Citizens of America for so long…

God needs consquences for such disruptive behavior.

The AfterMath - Dems Debate!

Yawn - stretch - yawn….dreaming…
WAKE UP MAN!
right. So I wrestled a bit with the TV, radio, newspaper and internet pundits…got my usual onslaught of requests to vote for the debate winner stuffed in my various email in boxes….such scamisms some of those official internet polls are - pay no attention.

Winner? Was there a winner?

This ones too slick , this ones not passionate enough, immigration, official language vs national language - WTF, this ones a hippy, too old, too connected, not experienced, didn’t get enough time to position themselves….wait till the next debate you’ll see a big difference in….wah wah wah wah - each of them trekked wisely over the eggshell stage - gingerly pacing themselves (why?) - come on- show some spirit people!
I declare no clear winner PERIOD!

In the background i am listening to Finnerans Forum on WRKO. The former Speaker of the House here in MA has a lot to say…sometimes. His callers have important points to make - sometimes. There are for sure a lot of angry construction company owners calling in who are dead on tired of being undercut by illegal immigrants for jobs. How do the illegals survive on such small profit margins….how do they prosper, we better learn their language to ask them soon before we put our own small business economy into revolutionary mode…
Mike Ravel , Dodd have already had their shots on the air this AM…both strong and affable - took a few calls…yawn.
Something better happen to ignite this field. I have stated the homogenization of party politics vs a policy based platform not built on a party foundation but through a meld of beliefs, processes and policy based ideals seems to be where things may be heading.Extreme left Republican = moderate Democrat - you do the math.

I know this means a total reworking of our politico infrastructure…So what.
Change is good - People will open their minds instead of being led blindly to open wallets with the omnipresent carrot of party politics being held out there as a friend with benefits.

Rain rain go away!
Can Al come out to play….

Debate season has opened!

Spin Spin Sugar!

St Anselm’s College - ahh I love NH
A nice crisp spring night!

Iraq Iraq Iraq -
Headline reads ” Bush ends war in Iraq - Dem Presidential Candidates have nothing to talk about….”

NH holds the key to the future….No one clearly won this debate- damn!

No one really drove home a clear passion. Edwards did poke a bit of a sneak comment at Clinton but he may as well said excuse me Hil please don’t get angry ….. Wait Dennis really does lay down the gauntlet for all not just the Democrats but for all of us!
Today Tonight I’m liking Dennis more - I like him more and more…

This country needs change this panel represents a nice chunk of change.

I love New Hampshire and the political activism and hotbed they cultivate can’t be messed with regardless of how many states try to nudge them to the side.

I love the Young Americans in the audience. Helping to shape our country!

I love watching the blibber - blabber with my children to help explain to them who wears the black hats and who wears the white hats according to well…me their Dad….
They understood Dennis when he slowed down enough so they could understand him…they seemed to like Richardson - he’s like a teacher or principal - he make sense - Do you like him too Dad?
They are drawn to Hilary - they liken her to Oprah hmmm is that a good thing - hmmm better than Rosie.
They really like Obama - they cite - He didn’t want us to be in war - Why would Hilary vote for us to be in War?
Hard questions.
Dad, if we keep going to wars all over the world and more countries hate us does that mean they will attack us again like 9/11…
Hard Questions……

This democratic group represents quite a diverse homogenization of party driven politics. Huh? Yeah thats what i think…It just gets frustrating.

Did I say I love NH - I really do!

There are so many other things we need to address in addition to the war in Iraq- while it is a priority there are just so many other items to address -
Dennis understands he wont get held up in one place.

“Travel the world and re-establish Americas moral authority in the world” - Edwards
Really? What does that mean? How will he do it? Big words…

Gametime: Guess who said what?
The question is what would you do in your first 100 days as President?
Bring our Troops home!
Get Moving on Health Care !
Upgrade our schools !
End War in Iraq diffuse possible war in Iran !
Help reshape the world for Peace - Reject policies that promote war, cancel NAFTA establish a not for profit health care system!
Restore the constitutional rights in this country!

Hmmm Okay maybe it’s just too much for me - This is going to a long race - my support is waivers, there is a lot of time for me to reflect upon who gets my cherished vote.
Right now its still up for grabs.
I will keep my children ages from 10 - 17 involved in this race - they are very reflective and getting their take is interesting.
There will be one more vote from this house in this election and I want her to be well informed!

I am looking forward to watching, commenting possibly laughing at the upcoming Republican debate.

BTW: Where were Bill and Michelle?
More importantly where is Al…….

Will Al Gore Run in 2008?

Will he run is not the question anymore. Is it?

Al Gore is in the process of forming a new political party of sorts - his agitation is not directed only at towers of the party line in
“The Assault On Reason”.
Why? Why? Why?

Gore leads us to be thinkers - ponder- and ACTIVISTS. We have so much knowledge in front of us to address so many situations - WHY are we sitting on our hands day in and day out.

Gore: “A drive for global domination has put us in greater danger”
The Truth Hurts Everybody!

Obama - Hilary - To NH we go!

There they all go parading the swells of Live Free or Die….Obama and wifey play humble pie to soothe the voters and followers - Ms Obama states ” He’s like a five year old, the way he makes the bed….” please make him more human for us as we don’t want to judge unfairly… Hilary is off to a NH Tech School to make “an important position statement” - Really? Important Hilary?

There’s that handsome Republican Pres Candidate Mitt The Romney “leading the Iowa Polls” Smiling and waving on the front page of the Boston Globe…his advertising blitz is working..yay Mitt! Wait isn’t it too early to look too good? Strategy Strategy Strategy - Can we still get Howard on the ticket? Hey Denis are you listening to all this crapola being spun?

United 93 - Got Hope?

I just watched United 93.
I begin writing with tears still moist on my face. I have sharp pains in my stomach. I have a headache. I’m angered. I’m frustrated. I’m hopeful. I’m confused. I’m Hopeful.
Hopeful?

Why - I just ask why.
Yes this happened close to six years ago – long? NO not at all.
I put forward the question of why has the numb worn off of so many of us? Are we a sidetracked nation set on self destruct - each day that goes by that we remain a mockery of ourselves the weaker we become.
Leadership – Freedoms-Come on?
Hopeful.

Let me ramble a bit…I support Barack Obama.
Jesus - I love OBAMA!
Hope Springs eternal!
His positions are disruptive and I love that! But wait a minute….a found a story buried way down deep in our force fed media…
Obama represents change –He also participates in disrupting our freedoms. In 2004 a MySpace site was created by a private US citizen to begin building support for Obama for President. The site got 160,000 MySpace friends as supporters. Recently; When the Obama campaign discovered the site they contacted good old Tom and friends at MySpace and demanded the site be handed over to them. The Obama campaign promised to give the sites creator a place within the campaign but had to take over the site that he had devoted so many volunteer hours to build. Hell Barrack even called to speak to the man himself and gave him some lame ass explanation on how he has to listen to his advisors (DAMN OBAMA…) and assured him a space on the campaign staff – HA no way – the guy was dissed by the man he supported to lead our country out of stagnation and into a new era!
I am hopeful.
Come on – what can you make of that – oh yes oh yes explain it all away be hopeful – I remain hopeful. Hope is a funny thing isn’t it?

Are we any safer from harm or from terrorism afflicting our country again? I don’t think we are at all.

I have been told by a woman whose opinion I have the highest respect for that my desire for isolationism is not the answer- she made a good argument for it too – I saw the light and remained hopeful. She also advised me that there is no such thing as a peaceful revolution and assured me that there will not be a revolution.
DAMN – there has to be an uprising of our people – haven’t we had enough yet?

Okay then where are the answers…. someplace in the middle? We need to rebuild ourselves economically and societal. Let’s invest MORE in America for a change. We should be the healthiest most educated and financially sound land in the world…right?

When do we as a country stop investing in others problems and forcing a political or economical agenda and beam in and focus on the homeland?

Freedom from oil is part of the key – let’s redirect some of those US do gooder dollars floating around the world in our constant efforts to police the world in the name of democracy and invest the monies in alternative energies for our country.
Now that would certainly weaken the Oil Cartels power over the USA.

Let’s all face it – we are not going to end thousands of years of holy wars with our forced democracy – Holy wars have been going on for years we are a mere fly in the ointment a mere pest to be dealt with so they can all get back to fighting over whose god is the god of all gods…How are things going over there on the Gaza Strip anyway?
Got Hope?

I don’t get it ! We need to educate our people to the highest levels ALL of them each and every American should have the best possible education-knowledge is power – why do we keep our country so powerless? Think about it…be hopeful.
We get sidetracked. We gobble up the controlled media we are fed while the internet, our last bastion for true freedom of thought and expression is next on the list to become a government controlled substance.

Don’t get me going on language and borders…did you know we are building a Great Wall of China on the Mexican border….hmm did we vote for that?

If you had the chance to vote for sending monies and troops to Afghanistan or US supplied healthcare for all American citizens – what would you vote for?

If you could vote for US supplied college educations for our children or the Great Wall of the Mexican border – what would you vote for?

Are you Hopeful?

Point made right? Just what decisions are we involved in? NOT ENOUGH OF THEM!

Yeah I’m also pretty damn sure we will bomb Iran or South Korea before Bush gets out of office…what will our next sidetrack be – Hey Where did J Lo go - I know lets talk to Dennis Kucinich - Hopeful?

Stay hopeful?

Obama Speaks to Southern NH University

Southern New Hampshire University commencement
Sen. Barack Obama’s Commencement Remarks
Saturday, May 19, 2007
SNHU Communications Office

Sen. Barack Obama’s Commencment remarks, as prepared:

Good morning President LeBlanc, the Board of Trustees, faculty, parents, family, friends, and the Class of 2007. Congratulations on your graduation, and thank you for allowing me the honor to be a part of it. I also want to thank Southern New Hampshire University for this honorary doctor of laws degree. I ended up paying for my first law degree for years and years, so for all of you with visions of law school, I’d consider running for President and then waiting for a commencement invite instead – it’s much cheaper.

There is a verse from the Bible that is sometimes read or recited during rites of passage like this. Corinthians 13:11: “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.”
I bring this up because there’s often an assumption on days like today that growing up is purely a function of age; that becoming an adult is an inevitable progression that can be measured by a series of milestones – college graduation or your first job or the first time you throw a party that actually has food too.

And yet, maturity does not come from any one occasion – it emerges as a quality of character. Because the fact is, I know a whole lot of thirty and forty and fifty year olds who have not yet put away childish things – who continually struggle to rise above the selfish or the petty or the small.

We see this reflected in our country today.

We see it in a politics that’s become more concerned about who’s up and who’s down than who’s working to solve the real challenges facing our generation; a politics where debates over war and peace are reduced to 60-second soundbites and 30-second attack ads.

We see it in a media culture that sensationalizes the trivial and trivializes the profound – in a 24-hour news network bonanza that never fails to keep us posted on how many days Paris Hilton will spend in jail but often fails to update us on the continuing genocide in Darfur or the recovery effort in New Orleans or the poverty that plagues too many American streets.

And as we’re fed this steady diet of cynicism, it’s easy to start buying into it and put off hard decisions. We become tempted to turn inward, suspicious that change is really possible, doubtful that one person really can make a difference.

That’s where the true test of growing up occurs. That’s where you come in.

No matter where you go from here – whether it’s into public service or the business world; whether it’s law school or medical school; whether you become scientists or artists or entertainers – you will face a choice. Do you want to be passive observers of the way world is or active citizens in shaping the way the world ought to be? In both your own life and the life of your country, will you strive to put away childish things?

It is a constant struggle, this quest for maturity, and as my wife will certainly tell you, I haven’t always been on the winning side in my own life. But through my own tests and failings, I have learned a few lessons here and there about growing up, and there’s three I’d like to leave you with today.

The first lesson came during my first year in college.

Back then I had a tendency, in my mother’s words, to act a bit casual about my future. I rebelled, angry in the way that many young men in general, and young black men in particular, are angry, thinking that responsibility and hard work were old-fashioned conventions that didn’t apply to me. I partied a little too much and studied just enough to get by.

And once, after a particularly long night of partying, we had spilled a little too much beer, broke a few too many bottles, and trashed a little too much of the dorm. And the next day, the mess was so bad that when one of the cleaning ladies saw it, she began to tear up.
And when a girlfriend of mine heard about this, she said to me, “That woman could’ve been my grandmother, Barack. She spent her days cleaning up after somebody else’s mess.”

Which drove home for me the first lesson of growing up: The world doesn’t just revolve around you.

There’s a lot of talk in this country about the federal deficit. But I think we should talk more about our empathy deficit – the ability to put ourselves in someone else’s shoes; to see the world through those who are different from us – the child who’s hungry, the laid-off steelworker, the immigrant woman cleaning your dorm room.

As you go on in life, cultivating this quality of empathy will become harder, not easier. There’s no community service requirement in the real world; no one forcing you to care. You’ll be free to live in neighborhoods with people who are exactly like yourself, and send your kids to the same schools, and narrow your concerns to what’s going in your own little circle.

Not only that – we live in a culture that discourages empathy. A culture that too often tells us our principle goal in life is to be rich, thin, young, famous, safe, and entertained. A culture where those in power too often encourage these selfish impulses.

They will tell you that the Americans who sleep in the streets and beg for food got there because they’re all lazy or weak of spirit. That the inner-city children who are trapped in dilapidated schools can’t learn and won’t learn and so we should just give up on them entirely. That the innocent people being slaughtered and expelled from their homes half a world away are somebody else’s problem to take care of.

I hope you don’t listen to this. I hope you choose to broaden, and not contract, your ambit of concern. Not because you have an obligation to those who are less fortunate, although you do have that obligation. Not because you have a debt to all of those who helped you get to where you are, although you do have that debt.

It’s because you have an obligation to yourself. Because our individual salvation depends on collective salvation. And because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you will realize your true potential – and become full-grown.

The second lesson I learned after college, when I had this crazy idea that I wanted to be a community organizer and work in low-income neighborhoods.

My mother and grandparents thought I should go to law school. My friends had applied for jobs on Wall Street. But I went ahead and wrote letters to every organization in the country that I could think of. And finally, this small group of churches on the south side of Chicago wrote back and gave me a job organizing neighborhoods devastated by steel-plant closings in the early 80s.

The churches didn’t have much money – so they offered me a grand sum of $12,000 a year plus $1,000 to buy a car. And I got ready to move to Chicago – a place I had never been and where I didn’t know a living soul.

Even people who didn’t know me were skeptical of my decision. I remember having a conversation with an older man I had met before I arrived in Chicago. I told him about my plans, and he looked at me and said, “Let me tell something. You look like a nice clean-cut young man, and you’ve got a nice voice. So let me give you a piece of advice – forget this community organizing business. You can’t change the world, and people won’t appreciate you trying. What you should do is go into television broadcasting. I’m telling you, you’ve got a future.”

I could’ve taken my mother’s advice and I could’ve taken my grandparents advice. I could’ve taken the path my friends traveled. And objectively speaking, that older man had a point about the TV thing.

But I knew there was something in me that wanted to try for something bigger.

So the second lesson is this: Challenge yourself. Take some risks in your life.

This isn’t easy. In a few minutes, you can take your diploma, walk off this stage, and go chasing after the big house and the large salary and the nice suits and all the other things that our money culture says you should buy.

But I hope you don’t. Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. And it will leave you unfulfilled.

So don’t let people talk you into doing what’s easy or comfortable. Listen to what’s inside of you and decide what it is that you care about so much that you’re willing to risk it all.

The third lesson is one that I learned once I got to Chicago.
I had spent weeks organizing our very first community meeting around the issue of gang violence. We invited the police; we made phone calls, went to churches, and passed out flyers. I had been warned of the turf battles and bad politics between certain community leaders, but I ignored them, confident that I knew what I was doing.

The night of the meeting we arranged rows and rows of chairs in anticipation of the crowd. And we waited. And we waited. And finally, a group of older people walk in to the hall. And they sit down. And this little old lady raises her hand and asks, “Is this where the bingo game is?”

Thirteen people showed up that night. The police never came. And the meeting was a complete disaster.

Later, the volunteers I worked with told me they were quitting – that they had been doing this for two years and had nothing to show for it.

I was tired too. But at that point, I looked outside and saw some young boys playing in a vacant lot across the street, tossing stones at boarded-up apartment building. And I turned to the volunteers, and I asked them, “Before you quit, I want you to answer one question. What’s gonna happen to those boys? Who will fight for them if not us? Who will give them a fair shot if we leave?”
And at that moment, we were all reminded of a third lesson in growing up:
Persevere.

Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won’t. it’s whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere.

After my little speech that day, one by one, the volunteers decided not to quit. We went back to those neighborhoods, and we kept at it, sustaining ourselves with the small victories. Eventually, over time, a community changed. And so had we.
Cultivating empathy, challenging yourself, persevering in the face of adversity – these are qualities that dare us to put away childish things. They are qualities that help us grow.
They are qualities that one graduate today knows especially well.

Richard Komi was born thousands of miles from here in Southern Nigeria. He’d probably still be there today, if he hadn’t been forced to flee when his tribe came under attack. Eventually, he made it to the United States, worked his way through factories and retail jobs, and came here to SNHU, to complete the education he began in Africa. And now, with a wife and kids and lots of responsibility, he’s even taking the time to give back to his new country by volunteering on this campaign.

Richard Komi may be graduating today, but it’s clear that he grew up a long time ago. We celebrate with him because his journey is a testament to the powerful idea that in the face of impossible odds, ordinary people can do extraordinary things.

At a time when America finds itself at a crossroads, facing challenges we haven’t seen in decades, we need to hold on to this idea more than ever.

A lot is riding on the decisions that are made and the leadership that is provided by this generation. We are counting on you to help fix a health care system that’s leaving too many Americans sick or bankrupt or both. We are counting on you to bring this planet back from the brink by solving this crisis of global climate change. We are counting on you to help stop a genocide in Darfur that’s taking the lives of innocents as we speak here today. And we’re counting on you to restore the image of America around the world that has led so many like Richard Komi to find liberty, and opportunity, and hope on our doorstep.

There are some who are betting against you – who say that you don’t pay attention, that you don’t show up to vote, that you’re too concerned with your own lives and your own problems.

Well that’s not what I believe and it’s not what I’ve seen. Instead I’ve seen rallies filled with crowds that stretch far into the horizon; thousands upon thousands signing up to organize online; scores who are coming to the very first political event of their lifetime. And just a few hours before this commencement, I got the opportunity to send off hundreds of people who have chosen to take time out of their busy lives and spend an entire Saturday knocking on doors here in New Hampshire. Because they’re not content to sit back and watch anymore. Because they believe they can help this country grow.

And whenever the doubt creeps in and I find myself wondering if change is really possible, I end up thinking about the young Americans – teenagers and college kids not much older than you – who watched the Civil Rights Movement unfold before them on television sets all across the country.

I imagine that they would’ve seen the marchers and heard the speeches, but they also probably saw the dogs and the fire hoses, or the footage of innocent people being beaten within an inch of their lives; or heard the news the day those four little girls died when someone threw a bomb into their church.

Instinctively, they knew that it was safer and smarter to stay at home; to watch the movement from afar. But they also understood that these people in Georgia and Alabama and Mississippi were their brothers and sisters; that what was happening was wrong; and that they had an obligation to make it right. When the buses pulled up for a Freedom Ride down South, they got on. They took a risk. And they changed the world.

Now it’s your turn. You will be tested by the challenges of this new century, and at times you will fail. But know that you have it within your power to try. That generations who have come before you faced these same fears and uncertainties in their own time. And that if we’re willing to shoulder each other’s burdens, to take great risks, and to persevere through trial, America will continue its journey towards that distant horizon, and a better day.

Thank you, and congratulations on your graduation.

Are we ready for Barack Obama?

Barack Obama For President!

The Boston Phoenix printed the following article about Barack- Do YOU agree?

When Barack Obama announced his presidential candidacy, there was some wild speculation — driven chiefly by early polls and bloggers such as Mickey Kaus — that Obama might not receive a large share of the black vote. The reasoning was that Obama — whose mother was white, whose father was Kenyan, and who grew up primarily in Hawaii and Indonesia — did not share the African-American “slavery heritage,” and that therefore many American blacks would reject him.

Guess again.

After Obama’s stirring appearance in Selma, Alabama, a week or so ago, the truth is becoming more apparent. There is an understandable pride among voters whenever “one of their own” seeks the nation’s highest office. John F. Kennedy did better among Catholics than any Democrat in recent history; Mitt Romney will do very well among Mormons, and most presidential candidates usually get a huge home-state bounce. Black voters are not going to be an exception to this rule.

How important is that advantage? It’s enormous, and it’s largely why Obama — not Hillary Clinton — is the current favorite to be the Democratic nominee. Black voters are a huge constituency in the Democratic primaries — around 20 percent — and they give Obama a solid base to build on in virtually every state (though not, interestingly, in Iowa or New Hampshire), all but guaranteeing he’ll stay in the race until the end. It also gives him unusual strength in many states that would normally not be fertile ground for a staunch Illinois liberal.

Equally important, these are voters Hillary Clinton’s campaign had figured would be overwhelmingly supporting her, largely because of the black community’s close ties to Bill Clinton in the past. Simply put, Obama’s candidacy has blown a huge hole in the Clinton effort’s foundation.

Jesse Jackson’s 1988 campaign is instructive. In the Democratic primaries that year, Jackson captured 92 percent of the black vote, carrying him to wins in 11 states — including Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Virginia — all of which will be prime targets for Obama as well. Jackson’s popularity among black voters also gave him, as it will Obama, a huge delegate boost nationally, since convention delegates are apportioned by congressional district. Throughout the country, a number of predominantly black districts will give Obama pockets of support come convention time.

Obama has another advantage. He is, by many accounts, the most charismatic Democratic presidential candidate on the scene since Robert F. Kennedy — as a campaigner, on a par with Ronald Reagan and JFK. True, there is plenty of time for Obama to stumble and to prove right those critics who say he is too green to make it through a tough campaign for the White House. But so far, he’s more than cleared the hurdles in front of him.

This isn’t to denigrate Hillary Clinton’s considerable assets. She is the first female presidential candidate with a real chance to win. She’s got a first-class organization with plenty of money. But she’s still Bill Clinton’s wife, and with all the benefits of that distinction comes a lot of baggage.

Electing a woman president would be a historic first. But a bigger point of pride for many voters, given the nation’s history, would be electing the first black. Admittedly this is just an impression, but after interviewing a number of voters, my hunch is that many would love to have the chance to vote for a black candidate. While many would also like to vote for a woman, the truth is that in many parts of the country Hillary is extraordinarily unpopular. I sense that a number of voters have Clinton fatigue and wish Bill and Hillary would, well, disappear.

Obama has a long way to go. But right now, he looks like the real thing.

DEMOCRATS

Barack Obama. Odds for nomination: 6-5.
Strengths: Charismatic, compelling communicator who has a real chance to be America’s first black president. That brings him enormous political advantages (see above). As far as primary Dems are concerned, right on all the issues, including Iraq.
Weaknesses: Relatively new on the political scene and has never run for national office before, so he will make mistakes.
Bottom Line: It will take a superstar to derail the Hillary juggernaut. Unfortunately for her, Obama looks like he may be one.

How many times are we to expect apologies from Slick Patrick for really bad decisions? We have already seen too many times where our Governor has made choices that are far less than stellar. Are we to suspect that Patrick is hitting the meds? These choices on time and money the good people of MA have bestowed upon Cadilaac King Patrick are unerving. How dare he be so pompous?

Mitt BEST Candidate for the Republican Swagger Party

Come on this is too easy …are the Democrats going to be able to Kick Romney around as the Republican Party front runner for the 2008 Presidential Election
For the first time since the presidential election of 2000, Republicans are engaged in a heated competition to see who will emerge as the party’s presidential nominee in 2008. So far, the race has taken some surprising turns, as we hear from VOA National correspondent Jim Malone.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney won a test vote at the conservative conference in Washington, finishing ahead of Giuliani, Kansas Senator Sam Brownback and McCain.

“Now is the time, this is the place, for us to lead a great coalition of strength for our families, for our future, for America,” he said. “God Bless the United States of America!”
YEAH RIGHT! MORMONS ROCK THE VOTE!!!

Romney is one of several candidates hoping to sharpen their appeal to conservative voters even though he has flipflopped and flipped over and over. As we all know the nut job conservative party pledgers make up the most significant bloc of support within the Republican Party - oh Goody!

Obama Defends Edwards, Dean Denounces Coulter

DNC Chair Howard Dean denounced Ann Coulter
, suggesting there was no room in politics for such “vile rhetoric,” except perhaps from the people who work in the kitchens of those swanky hotels.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama said he wouldn’t allow campaign politics to get in the way of his defending Edwards, stating, “John Edwards is not gay, though he did look at me sort of funny once in a Senate chamber men’s room. I am aware of the rumors surrounding Hillary over the years, not that I believe them, but I’ve never heard a thing about John. Kucinich is the one I wouldn’t turn my back on, if you know what I mean.”

CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT - YES AGAIN!

Bill Clinton Global Intiative
2006 Commitments - Climate
Virgin’s $3 bill. commitment to renewable energy initiatives

* Focus Area: Climate
* Sub Focus: Energy
* Commitment By: Virgin Group of Companies,
* First Year Cost: $200,000,000
* Total Estimated Value: $3,000,000,000
* Commitment Duration: 10 years

Objective:

Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Group believe that all businesses, especially those involved in transportation, energy and particularly fossil fuels such as coal must be at the forefront of developing environmentally friendly business strategies with a focus on replacing traditional energy with energy coming from renewable sources.
Commitment Announcement:

To demonstrate this we are committing that all future proceeds to the Virgin Group (dividends, realisations and share sales) from our transportation interests (airlines and trains) will be invested into renewable energy initiatives both within these transportation companies and further investments in new biofuel R & D production, distribution and other projects to tackle emissions related to global warming. We currently estimate this commitment to be $3 billion over the next ten years.

As our first significant demonstration of this we recently launched Virgin Fuels. A unique new investment vehicle for a series of international renewable energy investments by the Virgin Group with an early focus on bio-fuels (rather than other alternative energy sources or industrial power generation). The scope of the Company’s investment strategy will also include research and development of new bio-fuels suitable for both ground transportation and aviation.

Virgin Fuels has an initial funding commitment from the Virgin Group of up to $400 million over three years for biofuel investment and R & D in the field of new biofuels for both ground transport and aviation.

Virgin Fuels is delighted to announce its first investment in the sector against this $3 billion commitment with an investment in Cilion, Inc., headquartered in Goshen, California. Cilion was formed in June 2006 to build and operate ethanol plants that will be cheaper and greener than standard corn–to–ethanol plants, as they substantially reduce the need for fossil fuels in ethanol production. Cilion plans to build seven plants by 2009 with a total of 440 million gallons per year capacity. The first three plants are expected to be in California.

Virgin Fuels led the current investment round in Cilion, which has now raised over $200 million in two financing rounds. The current round includes the Yucaipa Companies and the founding investors, including Khosla Ventures - a leading venture capital firm, and Western Milling - one of the largest grain handling and processing groups in the US and the largest on the West Coast.
Background:

Virgin has always worked hard to minimise our environmental impact at every level of our businesses - from operating the y
